The thrill and daring of motorsports are the hallmarks of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Absorb the mystique and grandeur of the Speedway and view the unrivaled collection of rare and unique racing artifacts housed in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum!
Unfortunately track tours are not available during the SDC International Meet. We are able to offer tours inside the Museum.
Guided Museum Tour: Learn from an expert about the exhibits and artifacts on the floor of the Museum. See winning race cars from various years and learn about the track’s history. The Borg Warner trophy is often on display. Photographs can be taken on the main floor of the museum. Available from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (Eastern time) daily, minimum 1 person and a maximum of 20 per tour group.
Basement Tour: The Basement level of the IMS Museum took on a mythical reputation for 40 years, and deservedly so. It is a repository of rare and one-of-a-kind vehicles and artifacts, and only VIPs were granted access. That was ‘then,’ however, and today you can enjoy an exclusive 30-minute tour of the Museum’s basement auto storage! Available from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (Eastern time) daily, minimum of 1 person and a maximum 10 persons per tour group. All guests must be age 16 and older.
*** Sorry, no cameras or phones with cameras allowed on the basement tour. ***
